Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) is a commuter rail agency in the Northern Bay Area serving Marin and Sonoma Counties. We have an exciting opportunity for a Civil Rights professional who is looking to make an impact. This is a newly created position and will be an excellent opportunity for someone who has the skills and desire to take their career to the next level. Under general direction, the Regulatory Compliance and Civil Rights Manager coordinates civil rights programs to ensure regulatory compliance of state and federal laws. This position monitors and facilitates the application of regulatory guidelines, organizational compliance and Civil Rights programs including, but not limited to, the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), American with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Title VI programs.
Education and Experience:
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: Education:
- Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business or public administration, law, organizational development, or a related field.
Experience: - Six (6) years of increasingly responsible experience in civils rights with experience in Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), American with Disabilities (ADA), and Title VI programs.
